BEIJING, Jan. 17 (China Space News) — China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) plans to launch 21 rockets and 30 satellites into space in 2012, indicating that space exploration this year will be “very intensive,” an official from CASC said Tuesday at the 2012 work conference.
The 30 launches include those of the Shenzhou-9 spacecraft, six navigation satellites of the BeiDou system, Ziyuan III satellite — China’s first high-resolution remote-sensing satellite for civilian use, and one commercial launch for Venezuela’s remote-sensing satellite.
CASC is determined to complete all the tasks with good results, the official said.
