[02-17-11] Microwave systems and components supplier Luso Electronics introduced two high-power, Ku-and C-band redundant combiner assemblies (RCAs), the company announced Feb. 16.
Luso’s RCAs facilitate automatic redundancy in a two-amplifier phase combiner when configured with the manufacturer’s controller. In the event that a service provider’s amplifier fails, the combiner aims to allow a functioning backup amplifier to deliver its output to the antenna port with minimal loss.
The systems can be used in fixed Earth stations, SNG/DSNG vehicles and flyaway units and can be configured in many ways, including mounting the RF package externally, remote or manual phase adjustment, or completely automatic phase adjustment, the company said.
