Comtech Mobile Datacom has received a three-month indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract to support the U.S. Army’s Blue Force Tracking 1 (BFT-1) and Movement Tracking System (MTS) programs, the company announced April 2.
The contract calls for Comtech to continue supplying satellite bandwidth for the BFT-1 and MTS platforms through the end of June 2012.
This satellite bandwidth contract is separate and distinct from Comtech’s award of an $80.7 million indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity BFT-1 sustainment contract, also announced April 2. Comtech said the three-month satellite bandwidth contract was initially funded for $18 million and that the pricing for the satellite bandwidth has not yet been finalized. The contract also does not include any optional performance periods.
