Globalstar Expands Spot GPS Distribution in Latin America

[12-11-09] Globalstar signed agreements with its independent gateway operator Tesacom to launch distribution of Globalstar’s Spot Satellite GPS Messenger in Argentina, Chile and Paraguay, Globalstar announced Dec. 10.
    Distrubution is expected to begin by Dec. 13.
    “The [South American] Patagonia region boasts some of the worlds most popular and breathtaking hiking and skiing destination,s but because of its harsh topography, communication can often be difficult. We expect Spot will provide recreational outdoor enthusiasts as well as enterprise and government customers working in that region with an easy to use way to stay in touch with friends, family and coworkers,” Marty Neilsen, Globalstar’s vice president of New Business Ventures, said in a statement.
