The Chang’e-6 ascender successfully docked with its orbiter and returner combination in lunar orbit at 2:48 p.m. Beijing Time on June 6. It’s only the latest stage in the mission back to earth. This is the second time a Chinese spacecraft has successfully rendezvoused and docked in lunar orbit after the Chang’e-5 became the first in 2020.
