O3b Networks went live with news of the company’s first revenue generating customer during SATELLITE 2014. In a video interview with Mark Holmes, editorial director of Via Satellite, O3b CEO Steve Collar explained how different parts of the world present different market opportunities, and what the company has learned from working with Telecom Cook Islands.
“Latin America and Asia, they both have their challenges in terms of mobile backhaul, rural populations [and] difficult terrain,” said Collar. “I think between the two we will probably see more activity for O3b in 2014 in Asia and that is where we are making the biggest strides, I would say.”
