Amphinicy to Deliver New LEO Ground Station M&C System for EUMETSAT

Amphinicy Technologies is pleased to announce the signing of a contract with the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT) for the delivery of the new LEO ground station monitoring and control (M&C) system for EUMETSAT facilities at Svalbard and the Azores.

The Monica M&C project will address the challenges arising from the existing diversity of M&C systems currently used in EUMETSAT Polar System (EPS), its second generation (EPS-SG), and a part of the Joint Polar System (JPS). By leveraging a harmonised architecture and state-of-the-art technologies, the new M&C solution aims to enhance operational efficiency, reduce maintenance efforts, and ensure long-term scalability and flexibility for EUMETSAT’s future satellite programmes.

The new M&C solution will be built on top of our flagship product – Monica, a modern and flexible monitoring and control framework designed for the satellite industry. This agreement marks an important milestone for our company, affirming the dedication, hard work, and focus we’ve invested in the last two decades.

“We’re honoured to support EUMETSAT in its ground segment mission. It’s a unique opportunity to learn, grow, and become part of a system that keeps satellites flying and data flowing. As true space and ground enthusiasts, our team is ready for launch – and fully committed to seeing the mission through,” says Marjan Pataca, Customer Solution Manager at Amphinicy Technologies.
