Gilat Deploys SkyEdge 2 to Kazakhstan

[04-27-10] Gilat Satellite Networks has been contracted to provide a SkyEdge 2 broadband satellite communications network to telecom Astel in Kazakhstan, Gilat announced April 26.
    The Astel network now includes two SkyEdge 2 satellite hub stations and several hundred SkyEdge 2 Access VSATs with Gilat NetEdge gateways. Astel’s VSAT network aims to deliver a range of interactive data applications, including VoIP, video conferencing and virtual private networks.
    “Gilat’s advanced SkyEdge 2 VSAT suite enables us to continue to provide the highest level of customer service while meeting the complex networking requirements of Kazakhstan’s enterprises and government agencies,” Astel President Vladimir Breusov said in a statement.
    Financial details of the contract were not disclosed.
