Gilat Wins $11 Million Asia-Pacific Contract for SkyEdge Mobility Platform

Gilat Satellite Networks said it has secured an $11 million contract from an unnamed satellite operator in the Asia Pacific region to supply its SkyEdge platform, supporting advanced mobility services over very high throughput satellites (VHTS).

The company said the SkyEdge platform was selected for its performance in high-capacity networks, flexibility across multiple service profiles and ability to scale as market demand grows. Deployment will support a range of applications delivered over VHTS infrastructure, with deliveries expected to take place over the next 12 months.

“We are proud to support this customer’s VHTS strategy with a SkyEdge platform that is purpose-built for high capacity, multi-application satellite networks,” said Ron Levin, president of Gilat’s commercial division. “This deal reflects the strong confidence operators continue to place in Gilat’s technology and our ability to deliver reliable, future-ready solutions for complex satellite environments.”

Gilat said the contract underscores growing demand among regional operators for platforms capable of handling diverse mobility use cases, as satellite networks increasingly move toward higher throughput architectures to serve broadband, enterprise and mobility markets across the Asia Pacific region.
